It’s that time of year again, when community and voluntary groups across Kerry are rewarded –for their hard work behind the scenes, all thanks to The Kerry Community Awards.
Since 2014 The Kerry Community Awards committee have worked to recognise and reward the work of the community and voluntary groups that work tirelessly to improve the social, economic, cultural and environmental quality of life in our local communities.
The annual awards ceremony rewards entries short-listed on the night with the top 10 entries (gold winners) and next 10 (silver winners) receiving a monetary prize and plaque. The overall winner receives an overall monetary prize and trophy.
Last year’s overall winner, Cúnamh Iveragh, who support children and young adults with special intellectual needs in south Kerry found winning the award helped drive them on to introduce new initiative for the families they work with.
“I consider the Kerry Community Awards a fabulous idea. It’s very hard to keep committees together and to get volunteers to show up all the time. It [award] gives them great heart and a window for new volunteers to see what they are doing is appreciated,” Chairperson of Cúnamh Iveragh Adrian Griffin
Kerry Community Awards are open to all community and voluntary groups based in the county, regardless of size or location.
If your group assists, supports or enriches your community in some way, either socially or economically we would love to see you apply.
Applications are now closed for the 2025 Kerry Community Awards and judging is underway. We look forward to welcoming the short listed groups to The Rose Hotel on Thursday 18th September for the Awards Night event.
