Workshop 1: Project Management for Capital Projects
Description: “Project Management for Capital Projects” will dive into best practices for the design, planning and construction process of your project and demystify the paperwork required for drawdown of grants. Learn about forming a project management team, dealing with procurement policy and the costs and steps involved in taking your project from concept to tender stage.
This session will involve participating groups using their own upcoming projects for discussion.

Workshop 2: Fundraising Skills for Community Groups
Description: “Fundraising Skills for Community Groups” will explore the fundamentals of fundraising, including both traditional and online fundraising options. Develop a fundraising team and plan, learn how to market your fundraising campaign, identify sponsors and project manage fundraising efforts.

Workshop 3: Financial Management for Non-Profit Organisations
Description: “Financial Management for Non-Profit Organisations” will cover everything from sourcing funding, creating financial management policy and procedure and managing costs. Identifying future investment requirements and preparing cash flows will also be explored.

Workshop 4: Communicating the Cause
Description: “Communicating the Cause” will explore how to measure the impact and demonstrate the effectiveness of your organisation, communicate effectively with your stakeholders and handle public relations for your group. Using both print and online templates this workshop will help you develop the skills needed for meeting your organisations regulatory reporting requirements.

Workshop 5: Concept and Design for Community Spaces & Places:
Kerry PPN is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from community groups for participation in the Concept and Design for Community Spaces & Places initiative. This targeted mentoring course is designed to support community groups in planning, designing, and developing spaces that meet community needs effectively. This training will consist of 2 half day workshops and 2hrs one-on-one mentoring per participating group with course facilitator Tom O’Leary.
Objectives of the Initiative:
- Exploring the needs of the group
- Exploring the needs of the community – what needs analysis has been completed
- What are the priority services and facilities needed
- What needs to be accommodated within an existing or proposed building
- Advise on optimum building concept and design
- Identify all potential options
- Site visit
- Recommendations based on opportunities, and constraints identified
- Overview of the project development and planning process
- Overview of the feasibility study and business case assessment required for capital projects
- Overview of potential funding options
Date: 3rd March & 10th March (This is a 2-part in person workshop). The follow up mentoring will be arranged directly between the mentor and your group.
