Sea Synergy is a Marine Awareness, Research and Activity Centre that offers a variety of meaningful activities, workshops, and adventures that empower all ages. Sea Synergy’s immersive experiences in the Skellig Coast’s rich local heritage and environment allow our clients to fully experience what Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way has to offer. Sea Synergy was founded in 2014 by marine biologist Lucy Hunt, in her hometown, the beautiful coastal village of Waterville, located on the picturesque Ring of Kerry in SW Ireland. Sea Synergy Marine Awareness and Activity Centre offers a number of education programmes and outdoor adventures led by marine biologists and local specialists to facilitate a greater connection to nature and the local area. Our activities include stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) and kayaking in Waterville’s scenic Lough Currane. These guided eco-tours will show you the amazing views and wildlife that Kerry has to offer, as well as develop your skills as a paddler. Take it one step further with a SUP trip on the ocean to visit the seals of Ballinskelligs Bay and float over serene kelp forests. Join us to explore the rocky shores of Kerry’s wild coastline on our Seashore Safaris, or jump in and explore the underwater world on our snorkeling tours to discover marine life Irish waters have to offer. Our education programmes range from primary education to adult continuing education, and topics span a number of fields of study including marine mammals, marine biodiversity, ecology, Irish marine heritage & history, and more. Sea Synergy also offers consultancy work through LH Marine providing education resources with a focus on connection with nature and social emotional learning (SEL). Consultancy work is place based to suit primary and secondary curriculum enhancing students understanding of the natural world and empowering stewardship.
