Valentia Community Centre

We aim to promote sport and recreation to people of all ages and all fitness levels in our surrounding area. We provide a space for groups and organisations to meet socially. We also aim to be a focal point for the community in terms of running charity events, birthday parties, meetings, computer classes etc. Some explanatory notes: We are under the umbrella of Valentia Community Health and Welfare Association, a registered charity which holds an AGM every year. We provide a report on our activities to these AGMs. Total membership is hard to define-we have about 200 users of the gym, sportshall and meeting room- most come on a casual basis as opposed to paying membership. Our group was set up in 1998 with the aim of building a Community Centre/Sportshall in Valentia but the Centre didn’t open until 2006.
