Shorinji Kempo Chorca Dhuibhne

We are a non-profit martial arts club which teaches Shorinji Kempo and is run through the medium of irish. We provide classes for children and adults. We pride ourselves as a club who are welcome to all including people of all ages. There is generally a roughly equal division between male and female members. Shorinji Kempo is a traditional Japanese martial art with an emphasis on self development and helping the community. We charge a small free to cover insurance, sports wear (dogi), external assessors, transport, training, running costs, equipment, use of the facilities and other costs. All the financial documentation is available (receipts etc. ) The club has been running since 1990, was closed briefly during the lockdown and is now being facilitated by Michael Ó Cinnéide, a local primary school teacher, since Pádraig de Casenove has semi-retired from teaching. We are affiliated with the BSKF and attend seminars in the UK and other countries and host visits from other teachers and clubs.
