Mid Kerry Tourism Cluster / Reeks District

The Reeks District is the new travel brand of the Mid Kerry Tourism Cluster – a not-for-profit community initiative that is funded by members with an interest in travel and tourism, focussing on the outdoor activities on offer in the Mid Kerry region. The Reeks District has applied a new marketing strategy to entice visitors to the region based around five main experience pillars, all beginning with B and each containing experiences that are unique to the region. The five pillars are: Boots (walking and hiking), Boards (board sports), Bikes (cycling), Boats (sailing, kayaking, canoeing, fishing), Body & Soul (pampering). Stretching from Ireland’s highest peak Carrauntoohil (1,038m above sea level) to the Blue Flag beaches of Castlemaine harbour, the region is an outdoor enthusiast’s playground with a wide range of activities to suit everyone, from stand-up paddle boarding on Caragh Lake to hiking Carrauntoohil.
