Listowel & District Historical Society


The main aim of Listowel & District Historical Society is to record, study and preserve the political, social, cultural & industrial history of Listowel and surrounding parishes. To date the Society has undertaken an annual series of lectures, historical walks & bus tours relating to local history. It has also organised activities as part of specific events including Listowel Military Tattoo, Heritage Week and North Kerry Heritage Experience. It works closely with the Seanchaí – Kerry Writers’ Museum, Listowel where all its activities take place. The Society has also developed a relationship with Kerry Archaeological & Historical Society who promote its events to their members and through their website.
