KDYS is concerned with empowering young people to grow to their full potential by enabling them to acquire the knowledge, attitudes and skills necessary for their well being and for the enrichment of their communities. The main objects for which KDYS is established are: - • To promote and encourage the social, personal, educational, vocational and spiritual development of the young people of the Diocese and the adults who work with them. • To establish, set up, promote, operate and maintain permanent youth centres; • To provide a Youth Information Service with a strong outreach dimension; • To actively promote and engage in community youth work; • To provide suitable training for young people, leaders and parents; • To assist in the setting up and effective functioning of youth clubs; • To assist local communities in the setting up and running of summer activity programmes for young people. • To provide facilities and training for the young unemployed, long term unemployed, disadvantaged and disabled, to prepare them for access to employment opportunities and to assist their full social integration.
