K-Fest Music and The Arts

Since 2013, K-Fest Music and The Arts has been utilizing unoccupied spaces within the beautiful town of Killorglin by re-appropriating vacant retail outlets, deserted buildings and even domestic homes into bespoke pop-up galleries of all shapes and sizes. The transformation of over 20 vacant buildings housing over 150 visual artists across all disciplines of fine art and design is in itself a staggering work of socially engaged art. To date K-Fest has housed over 350 visual artists with a total of approximately 1,700 original works of art on display over the June Bank Holiday weekend from some of the country’s best emerging and established talents. Local, national, and international artists act as temporary resuscitators, breathing new life into the numerous unique, quirky, and often unused sites Killorglin has to offer. Paint, Print, Sculpture, Performance, Textiles, Fashion, Graphic Design, Photography, Film, Audio-Visual, and Dance have all exhibited and enriched the town in the past and 2K16 is proving to be as big as its predecessors. K-Fest continues to take part in the thriving Irish music scene, bringing to Mid-Kerry some of the most creative and promising bands, singers and musicians, of all genres, to the venues of Killorglin. We are proud to continue to support these artists with our Play For Pay policy, where every band and musician gets paid for their performances. With the vast majority of the music free to attend.
