Castleisland-Corca Dhuibhne

St. Mary’s Basketball Club

St. Mary’s basketball club was founded in the late 1950’s has grown considerably over the years. We currently have 350 members. We participate in Kerry club Competitions at all grades. Its overall success can be judged from the number of players who have represented Kerry, Munster and Ireland in many competitions. Currently the club caters for players male and female from the age of 6 through to adult competitions. The under- age section is given a lot of attention by the club, realizing that the juveniles of today will be the mainstay of the game in the future. This policy has been very successful with a very high rate of continuity through the various grades being achieved. In addition to catering for the town of Castleisland, the club also draws players from Cordal, Scartaglen, Currans, Currow, Ballymacelligott, Knocknagoshel, Farranfore and Tralee.
